The use of colour and costuming for My film

Young child:

The main costume for the child is a dull grey dress and red hair bow, this plays on colour meanings. For example the dull grey dress expresses her blank personality and goes along with stereotypical dress code for children in horrors. The red hair bow helps to give the impression of child innocence however the colour of the bow expresses danger and makes the audience have awareness of this particular character. The neutral colours of the set helps make this harsh colour to stick out on screen.

 Young Adult:
This character had to look professional due to the job role chosen for the character, in addition to this it had to be clothing that would present him as an older male. The suit trousers and matching coloured shirt helps to show professionalism and matureness. However the jumper creates a younger feel of the character, this is because we didn't want the scene to appear overly formal. The colours, Navy and Burgundy, are sensible and practical for a suit allowing them to not stick out harshly on screen. They also emphasise professionalism due to them being colours expectable for a work environment.

Teen:

For the first time we see the babysitter i wanted him to come across as intimidating in order for the audience to miss judge him due to his appearance combined with his gender and age. For this i used a hooded jacket to shadow his face in the first scene he appears in. The dark navy of the jacket also helps to create a darker figure and therefore increase the likelihood of the audiences misconception of him as a character.
