Behind the scenes of 'My Friend Charlie' :
We used our own cameras so we were able to have them to hand when ever we needed to film; for example extra clips. We both had a 'Sony Handycam' 50x optical zoom, both with 16GB SD cards, therefore we had plenty of storage space and had the same quality of video in each clip used. The cameras both had hand straps and therefore it made it much easier to do hand held shot which we did a lot through out the film, mostly in the flashback scene as it was easier to move about the house following the actors through scenes.
We also made our own sound effects so they were exactly how we wanted them, rather than trying to find the perfect one by downloading. We did this in the story scene when we first have the suggestion of Charlie, this was done through dropping a box outside the bedroom door. This was also useful as it gave our actor a trigger to react to, as a result the reaction is more believable and effective on screen as the reaction is on time with the actual sound effect.
